KCP Visiting Judges

Mrs Sue Marskell, UK FCI Judge

Labradors have been part of our lives since January 1982 when Rosie (Merrymills Bali-Hai) a beautiful, very boisterous black puppy bombarded her way into our hearts. She was bought as a pet for our two sons Lee and Ben. However, we had no idea what impeccable breeding she had! And was persuaded to have a litter from her and start showing her.  We were then under the spell. She had only one litter to Heatherbourne Court Jester, and she is behind everything we have. We now breed and own all three colours. Our Kennel name is 'Berolee'. I am also on the Labrador breed council ‘A1’ judging list.

I gave my first set of tickets at the Labrador Club of Wales – February 2010 and have been fortunate enough to judge in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina, Luxembourg, Lapland, Australia and New Zealand. I have also given tickets again in the UK: at the National Gundog Association, Three Ridings Labrador Club (2013) and Gundog Breeds of Scotland (November 2015) champ shows. I am due to judge in Austria (2016), France (2016) and Birmingham (2017).

There is very little time for anything else these days but we have made so many friends through our dogs both here and abroad which makes it all worth while!

WHAT A WONDERFUL BREED THE LABRADOR IS. As you can see Labradors are my passion and take up my whole life (except of course our granddaughters) I am very much looking forward to judging your very prestigious show. Thank you very much for inviting me.

Our first Labrador was the beautiful ‘Rosie’ who bombarded her way into our hearts in January 1982.  She was brought as a pet for our 2 sons Lee & Ben.  We had no idea what impeccable breeding she had – A Ballywillwill daughter one side and Heatherbourne the other!  The rest is history. She is behind everything we have at Berolee. At home and living indoors with us we have:

Berolee Starcraft JW (Ronnie) – yellow dog – stud book number many times over.
Berolee Moon Star (Star) – yellow dog – stud book number many times over.
Berolee Didier Drogba (Di Di) – young black dog – stud book number many times over.
Multi Sh Ch Berolee Moons Magic Star (Macey) – black – 8 x CCs, 5 x RCCs, 4 x BOBs

Berolee Sahara (Angel) – yellow bitch– stud book number.
Berolee Primadonna (Elsea) – black bitch who has produced so well for us.
Berolee Biella our  black girl – stud book number.

In Italy we have the multichampion Berolee Jose Mourinho.

I have been extremely lucky in being invited to many parts of the World to judge our lovely breed ( and made so many life- long friends) - Spain, Holland, Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Moscow, Argentina,  St. Petersburg –  Finland – Australia & New Zealand – Scotland  – France – Austria & Belgium –Pakistan,  USA  and Sweden.  As well of course giving “tickets” in the UK many times.

I have been a serving member of the Yellow Labrador Club for many years.

As you can see Labradors are my passion and take up my whole life (except of course our grandchildren) I am very much looking forward to judging your very prestigious  show. Thank you very much for inviting me.
