About KCP

Affiliated Clubs

The Kennel Club of Pakistan recognises the important role of affiliated breed clubs in promoting individual breeds, encouraging responsible breeding, organising breed activities and improving the overall standard of purebred dogs in Pakistan. Three breed clubs are currently affiliated with KCP, and each operates in accordance with the Constitution, Rules and Regulations of the Club.

GDCP

The Gundog Club of Pakistan (GDCP) is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP), representing the gundog breeds of FCI Groups 7 and 8: pointing dogs, retrievers, flushing dogs and water dogs. GDCP independently plans and organises its own activities. Official events are held with KCP approval and follow the applicable KCP rules and regulations.

GDCP also organises field trials, training sessions and educational activities that develop working ability, handling skills, breed knowledge, sportsmanship and judge or steward development.

GDCP does not independently register dogs or litters and does not issue pedigrees. KCP is the registry authority for dog registration, pedigrees, kennel names, litters, ownership transfers and breeding records. GDCP submits the official results of its recognised events for inclusion in the national record.

Events organised by GDCP

  • Championship CAC Shows: All eligible gundog breeds from FCI Groups 7 and 8 may participate and compete in their breed and group competitions under the approved CAC format.
  • Breed Specialty CAC Shows: Championship shows for a single gundog breed, allowing detailed breed focused evaluation under the CAC format.
  • Open Shows: Informal, non championship events that create opportunities for young dogs, owners, exhibitors, upcoming judges and stewards to learn through participation. Dogs are placed without CAC or championship awards.
  • Cup Matches: Informal knockout competitions in which dogs compete in pairs and the winner advances through each round until the Cup Winner is declared.

PRC

The Pakistan Rottweiler Club (PRC) is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP). It independently organises its own Rottweiler shows, breed evaluations and educational activities. Its official events are approved by KCP and follow applicable KCP rules and the official FCI Breed Standard.

PRC promotes responsible breeding, correct breed type, sound temperament, health and working ability. It may also organise breed surveys, seminars and training based on established international practices, including ADRK Germany's breed knowledge.

PRC is not authorised to register dogs or litters independently and does not issue pedigrees. KCP is the registry authority for Rottweiler registrations, pedigrees, kennel names, litters, ownership transfers and breeding records. PRC submits official event results and breed evaluations for the national record.

Events organised by PRC

  • Breed Specialty Championship Shows (CAC Shows): Championship CAC shows for Rottweilers, evaluating breed type, anatomy, movement, temperament and overall quality.
  • PRC Sieger Show: The club's premier specialty championship event. The judge may award Sieger, Siegerin and Reserve titles together with Junior, Youth and Veteran titles. Evaluations may include height measurement, judges' critiques and gunshot or temperament testing.
  • Open Shows: Informal, non championship events for participation and learning. Dogs are placed without CAC or championship awards.
  • Cup Matches: Informal knockout competitions in which dogs compete in pairs until the Cup Winner is declared.

GSDCP

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan (GSDCP) is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP) that works independently in managing the breed. It organises its own shows, breed surveys and educational activities. Its official show calendar and judges are sanctioned by KCP, and events follow applicable KCP rules and the official FCI Breed Standard.

Unlike KCP Championship Shows, GSDCP shows use a specialised grading system rather than CAC or CACIB. Stock Coat and Long Stock Coat dogs are judged separately.

Minor Puppy and Puppy classes are graded Very Promising, Promising, Sufficient or Cannot be Judged; Junior and Youth classes SG (Very Good) or G (Good); and Adult classes VA (Excellent Select), V (Excellent), SG or G. The judge may award Sieger, Siegerin and Reserve titles, together with the relevant Junior, Youth and Veteran titles.

GSDCP administers its shows and records judges' critiques and results. It is authorised to process German Shepherd litter registrations, imported dog registrations and single generation registrations, and to issue pedigrees for the breed. KCP allocates the official KP registration numbers and GSDCP remains accountable for every number and record handled under this delegated authority.

Show formats

  • Ortsgruppe (OG) Show: A local specialty show for regular participation and evaluation by specialist judges.
  • Landesgruppe (LG) Show: A larger regional specialty show with stronger competition and wider comparison of breeding programmes.
  • Sieger Show: The premier national specialty event with the highest level of competition, additional titles and breed specific evaluations.

The relationship between KCP and its affiliated breed clubs — eligibility, elections, judges, shows, registration authority, financial accountability and compliance — is set out in full in the Club’s published regulations.
