Gundog breeds — FCI Groups 7 and 8
Gundog Club of Pakistan
GDCP
The Gundog Club of Pakistan (GDCP) is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP), representing the gundog breeds of FCI Groups 7 and 8: pointing dogs, retrievers, flushing dogs and water dogs. GDCP independently plans and organises its own activities. Official events are held with KCP approval and follow the applicable KCP rules and regulations.
GDCP also organises field trials, training sessions and educational activities that develop working ability, handling skills, breed knowledge, sportsmanship and judge or steward development.
GDCP does not independently register dogs or litters and does not issue pedigrees. KCP is the registry authority for dog registration, pedigrees, kennel names, litters, ownership transfers and breeding records. GDCP submits the official results of its recognised events for inclusion in the national record.
Events organised by GDCP
- Championship CAC Shows: All eligible gundog breeds from FCI Groups 7 and 8 may participate and compete in their breed and group competitions under the approved CAC format.
- Breed Specialty CAC Shows: Championship shows for a single gundog breed, allowing detailed breed focused evaluation under the CAC format.
- Open Shows: Informal, non championship events that create opportunities for young dogs, owners, exhibitors, upcoming judges and stewards to learn through participation. Dogs are placed without CAC or championship awards.
- Cup Matches: Informal knockout competitions in which dogs compete in pairs and the winner advances through each round until the Cup Winner is declared.
