Format of FCI International CACIB Shows

The Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP) conducts FCI International CACIB Shows in accordance with the regulations of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI). The following explains the class structure, awards system, competition procedures, and championship titles applicable at KCP International CACIB Shows.

These regulations help exhibitors understand the progression of competition from breed classes through Best of Breed, Group judging, and ultimately Best in Show. All awards and titles are awarded solely at the discretion of the Judge and only when the exhibits are considered of sufficient merit.

If both the CACIB and Reserve CACIB winners are already Pakistan Champions, the Judge may award the CAC to the next most deserving exhibit from the remaining eligible dogs in the CACIB competition.

Breed Finals

  • Best Minor Puppy of Breed — Best Minor Puppy Male and Female compete.
  • Best Puppy of Breed — Best Puppy Male and Female compete.

Callback System

The callback system ensures that all eligible exhibits are considered for reserve awards.

Reserve CACIB — If the winner of a class participating in the CACIB competition receives the CACIB award, the second-placed exhibit from that class may be called back into the ring to compete for Reserve CACIB. *Example:* if the Excellent 1st Open Class dog wins CACIB, the Excellent 2nd Open Class dog is called back for the Reserve CACIB competition.

Reserve Best in Show — If a Group Winner receives Best in Show, the second-placed exhibit from that Group may be called back to compete for Reserve Best in Show. *Example:* if the Group 7 winner is awarded Best in Show, the second-placed exhibit from Group 7 may be called back for the Reserve Best in Show competition.

International Championship Titles

  • International Champion (INT CH) — four (4) CACIB awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.
  • International Junior Champion (INT JCH) — three (3) FCI-CACIB-J awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.
  • International Veteran Champion (INT VCH) — three (3) FCI-CACIB-V awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.

The three countries are the countries the judges come from, not the countries where the shows are held. Under the FCI regional provisions that apply to Pakistan, every qualifying award may be won at shows held in Pakistan, and no minimum period is required between the first and the last award.

CACIB is awarded in the Intermediate, Open, Working and Champion Classes, FCI-CACIB-J in the Junior Class and FCI-CACIB-V in the Veteran Class. Each counts only towards its own title.

Completing the awards does not confer an international title. International titles are confirmed only by the FCI, after KCP submits the application and the FCI approves it.

Pakistan Championship Titles

  • Grand Champion (PK GCH) — The dog must hold the Pakistan Champion title and have at least 500 points under the KCP Point System.
  • Pakistan Champion (PK CH) — three (3) CAC awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.
  • Pakistan Junior Champion (PK JCH) — three (3) J-CAC awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.
  • Pakistan Veteran Champion (PK VCH) — three (3) V-CAC awards under three (3) different judges from three (3) different countries.

Pakistan titles are confirmed by the Kennel Club of Pakistan after verification of the official show results.

Judge's Discretion

The Judge is not obliged to award any qualification, title, certificate, CAC, CACIB, Reserve CACIB, BOB, BOS, Group Placement, or Show Placement if the exhibit does not possess sufficient merit. All awards are granted solely on the quality of the exhibit as evaluated against the applicable breed standard. The decision of the Judge shall be final.
