KCP Open Show Format

KCP Open Shows are educational and training events conducted under the supervision of the Kennel Club of Pakistan. Their primary purpose is to encourage participation, provide ring experience to exhibitors and dogs, and offer practical training opportunities for aspiring judges, stewards, and exhibitors.

Open Shows are informal events and are not championship shows. No championship points or official titles are awarded, and results from Open Shows do not contribute towards any KCP or FCI championship title.

Objectives of Open Shows

The objectives of KCP Open Shows are to:

  • Encourage new exhibitors to participate in dog shows.
  • Provide valuable ring experience for young dogs.
  • Train and educate aspiring judges.
  • Train Ring Stewards and Show Secretaries.
  • Promote responsible dog ownership and sportsmanship.
  • Increase participation in KCP activities.

Appointment of Judges

Open Shows are intended to serve as an educational platform for the development of future judges.

The Show Committee may appoint Candidate Judges or Provisional Judges to officiate at Open Shows under the supervision of an approved KCP Judge or an experienced KCP-appointed mentor.

The supervising judge may observe the judging process, provide guidance where necessary, and assist in the development of judging skills.

This arrangement shall be used solely for educational purposes and shall not affect the authority of the appointed judge within the ring.

Purpose

Open Shows are intended to provide a relaxed learning environment where exhibitors, breeders, judges, and stewards can develop their knowledge and practical experience without the pressure of championship competition. These events play an important role in encouraging participation, developing future judges and ring officials, improving ring procedures, and strengthening the overall standard of canine activities in Pakistan.
