Handling of Dogs in the Ring

Conflict of Interest Policy

To ensure fairness, transparency, and the integrity of dog show competition, certain individuals involved in the administration, organization, and judging of KCP-sanctioned events shall not be permitted to personally handle dogs in the show ring. The purpose of this policy is to eliminate any actual or perceived conflict of interest and to maintain confidence in the impartial conduct of KCP events.

Persons Restricted from Handling Dogs

The following individuals may enter and exhibit dogs at KCP-sanctioned events but are not permitted to personally handle dogs in the show ring:

  • Members of the KCP Judging Committee.
  • Individuals directly involved in the selection, recommendation, or approval of judges.
  • Members of the Show Committee.
  • Chairpersons of Show Committees.
  • Members of the organizing committee of a show.
  • Any individual directly involved in the management or administration of the event.

Such dogs must be exhibited by another person who is not subject to the above restrictions.

Scope of Application

This restriction applies to:

  • Dogs Registered in Their Name — all dogs owned, co-owned, or registered in the name of the individual.
  • Dogs Residing in Their Kennel or Premises — all dogs housed, maintained, trained, or residing in their kennel, facility, or place of residence.
  • Dogs of Their Breeding — all dogs bred by the individual, regardless of ownership at the time of exhibition.

Participation in Shows

Individuals covered by this policy remain fully entitled to enter dogs in KCP-sanctioned events, own and breed dogs, sponsor or support exhibitions, and participate in administrative and organizational activities. However, they shall not personally present or handle any dog in the ring during the event.

No Exceptions

This policy shall apply uniformly to all persons covered by its provisions. No exceptions, waivers, or special permissions shall be granted unless specifically approved by the KCP Managing Committee under extraordinary circumstances.

Enforcement

Any violation of this policy may result in:

  • Disqualification of the exhibit.
  • Cancellation of awards obtained in violation of the rule.
  • Disciplinary action under KCP Rules and Regulations.
  • Any other action deemed appropriate by the Kennel Club of Pakistan.

Objective

The Kennel Club of Pakistan is committed to ensuring that all competitions are conducted in a fair, transparent, and impartial manner. This policy is intended to protect the credibility of KCP events and maintain the confidence of exhibitors, judges, and spectators alike.
